Write a Reflection on your Educational Development: Your Reflection should discuss: 1) the reason(s) you are taking this course and what you hope to gain from this intellectual experience; 2) three critically important historical or cultural perspectives you learned, from a specific institution of socialization (i.e., school, family, church, media, etc.) about the African or African American experience, while completing your elementary and/or secondary education; and 3) a specific challenge (i.e., problem, issue, or concern, etc.) that impedes mainstream scholars from perceiving Afrocentrism as a legitimate perspective from which to understand the cultural history and experiences of Africans in America.
