What business areas are impacted? What business functional areas are most accountable? Identify and describe the EPM processes required to meet these objectives.

You are the new Business Analytics manager at LECAL Cruises, Inc. Your company owns 10 cruise ships but hopes to increase its fleet in the next five years through increased bookings, improved destinations and on-shore excursions, and improved on-board amenities. LECAL has a goal to grow revenue 50% over the next five years by increasing the fleet and improving services. LECAL’s ships currently have between 500- and 2,000-passenger capacities. The company is looking to build two new ships in the next five years but is unsure of the best size. Recently there have been some problems with engine room fires and temporary loss of power on cruises. LECAL is concerned about the harm these issues may have caused in terms of its reputation in the industry. Upper-level management and leaders suspect that postings on Facebook and Twitter, as well as online blogs, may provide evidence of what past cruise passengers are saying to others about their positive and negative experiences. Your company has five legacy systems that have a 10-year history of: (1) past bookings from passengers, (2) past on-shore excursions, (3) records of on-board entertainment and sales, and (4) records of LECAL employees serving as both on-board staff (e.g., from captain to dishwasher) and support staff (i.e., located at the headquarters office). LECAL attempted to create a data warehouse a few years ago, but the project failed miserably. Your upper management now wants to implement an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system to help the company achieve its strategic objectives and strive for continued success into the future. The company has tasked you to create an EPM roadmap that will transform it from its existing state into the end state, as presented in its objectives. The roadmap should contain the following information: Identify the KPI’s to measure the success of implementing the roadmap. The roadmap should include the four foundational questions: What do we want to happen in the business? How do we want it to happen? What actually happened in the business? Why did it happen? Paper should be 10 pages in length, not counting the title page and references page, and must refer to five academic sources.
