Project :
Students will view one movie listed below and submit an individual review. The review will include a discussion on how management and leadership roles are portrayed in film. Students will describe how concepts of management and leadership, as described in the course textbook, Management Skills for the New Healthcare Supervisor, relate/apply to the film of their choice. Videos may be obtained through rental (Netflix, Redbox, iTunes, YouTube, Amazon), or other downloads. Remember the TitansUse the following criteria to develop your media review:
2. Discuss which motivational theory (Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor—from our textbook) applies to management and leadership in the film you viewed. (10 points)
3. Discuss aspects of conflict and confrontation (using our textbook as a resource) addressed in the film. (10 points)
4. Describe the relationship between the managers/leaders and subordinates in the film (using our textbook as a resource). (10 points)
5. Describe the theme(s) of the film. (10 points)
6. Discuss the characteristics, traits, and theories you would (or would not) consider adopting as part of your leadership style, and why (use or textbook as a resource). (10 points)
7. Discuss the leadership style portrayed by the main character of the film (using our textbook as a resource). (10 points)
8. Compare the depiction of the managers/leaders in this film with your own experience with manager/leaders. Have you had similar or related experiences, or have never experienced the situations in the film? This may even apply to classroom/learning situations. (10 points)
9. Discuss what you like most and least about the film. (10 points)
10. Use of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written in ESSAY format. (10 points)
Format:
The project is to be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roma 12 point font in ESSAY format, not to exceed 4 pages. Construct as you would an Individual assignment, including the number for the question you are answering. The answer to each question should be numbered and written as a short essay that conveys an understanding and application of the film to our text/management and leadership concepts.
Besides content, students will be graded on grammar, spelling, and proper APA 6.0 format of in text citation of textbook (you do not need a reference page).
Because this assignment is a reflection of what you learned/took away from the file, you can write in first person.
